Pieces of Theron: Floop
Theron loved playing games, board games, card games, or just fun gamelike activities. He loved board games so much that he created his own board game: Floop, in which he created the board, the pieces, and even dice, with paper and tape. Theron loved to win, but he loved getting the family together to play, especially over holidays. He was often seen walking into the gathering, arms stacked with board games. There was a time in Theron’s life, around his middle school years, that it became a night time ritual before bed to play a card or board game as a family. Some favorites were Blink, Pass the Pigs, Skip Bo, Trouble, Uno, Dicecapades, Telestrations, Headbandz, and so many more.
Outside of creating his own board game, he liked recreating some viral “sensations”. He would see things on TikTok and would want to try the many science experiments and recipes. Some favorites were the naked egg, slime, Kool-Aid icees, snow cream, and “Sloo-doos” (a Theron name and favorite cake in a cup made with Oreos), just to name a few. Though not truly a game or experiment, Theron used to pride himself on being Chrisi’s helper while she baked cookies, probably because in turn, it earned him the role of eating the batter off the whisk. There are many fond memories of baking and decorating cookies with Theron during holidays, birthdays and snow days.
