Theron wore an easy smile, highlighted by a single dimple on his left cheek. He bypassed the grimaced “say cheese” moments which most of us trudged. The joke was that extra sunlight from nowhere showered him while the rest in the family photo were sentenced to harsh shadows. The glowing soul that found its way to his face was a kind one; he was sensitive to the experiences of those around him and well wore the mantle of support for whoever needed it. That support came packaged in silliness, wry wit, and an electric eagerness to leave a person laughing.  He also was the first to congratulate those close to him, with a note, texts, or hyping others via social media posts.

Though nearly professionally foolish, Theron was equal parts put together, common sense developing in him early. Like his immediate show of street smarts, we knew from his first years that Theron would have a strong personality. He had the knack to get his way through sweetness and tenacity alike—his grit and stubborn resolve were hand-built. He earned his grades and just about everything else in life (puzzles, trick shots, his fitness), the hard way. Repetition, repetition.
