Pieces of Theron: Music

Theron grew up in a home with a constant backdrop of music: around the house on old stereos, yearly vacation playlists made almost ritualistically, and from musically-inclined older brothers. Naturally, Theron developed an eclectic taste. He and his brothers would occasionally collaborate on playlists and share songs that reminded them of each other.

A musically related story that keeps us laughing is Theron trying to remember the name of a Michael Jackson song that was “playing in his head”. He would sound out how he heard the beginning of the song, but none of us could figure it out since his rendition just left us laughing. Nearly a year later, we cracked the code, or rather he did.  The song was Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, and the way he “voiced” the violins was interesting.  Theron was also “famous” for making up lyrics to popular songs, either by mis-hearing, or on purpose to be funny, of course - either way he was funny.

Dedicated to the memory of Theron, this Spotify playlist captures his musical interest over the years. They are song’s he “liked” and are found throughout his 40+ private playlists. Let these tunes serve as a tribute to his spirit, inspiring us to embrace each day with the same enthusiasm and joy he brought to our lives. *some songs contain explicit lyrics
